I completely relate to all of the above. After just completing a 30 day VA intense program I"ve learned that my problem is somehow caused by something that I lived before I ever took that first drink. This is the area that I will research with truth and respoonsibility, if not then I will never be able to know why I ever took that first drink that made me want to feel and behave other than the way I was before I did this, Obviously something happened that made me feel better about my self being intoxicated rather than being in my own mindset before I ever did this and this is my search. The wreckage subsequient to me first drinking and using is a result of something that I lived prior to this time. I really want to know. So my goal is to search my memory and write everything down on paper that I can think of to shed so light on my life and the people around me. Thank you for the above. Sobriety is No. 1, honesty and responsibility. Sounds simple but this could be a lifeline search. I will pursue this. Charles F. Enscoe. 1846 E. 5th St. #B Ontario CA 91764

The steps relieve the mental obsession with drinking. If drunks want to get past wanting to drink, they have to work the steps, at least in my experience. When we stop working the steps, we're ticking, as in a bomb. That's based on experience that's all too personal. As is often said "it works if you work it".

Peace.

Hello,

having just stumbled on your blog I discover that we are going through very similar experiences, despite being on opposite sides of the world and from different ways of life. The online recovery community is growing and so a new game of 'tag' has been invented, where we all link up. Please visit my latest blog for the rules of the game!
